Your feet are pretty remarkable—they support you through life’s daily walk, literally. Healthy feet help you stay mobile, active, and independent. Neglecting them can lead to painful issues like corns, fungal infections, ingrown toenails—or worse, complications if you have diabetes or circulation problems.

Everyday Foot Care: The Basics

Here are some simple steps you can add into daily life:

  • Washanddryproperly– Use gentle soap and lukewarm water. Avoid soaking for too long. Always dry between the toes.
  • Moisturise – Keep the skin soft and supple but avoid between the toes.
  • Clean socks & shoes – Change socks daily, air shoes, and keep footwear clean inside and out.

Special Care Tips

  • Nail health

Trim nails straight across, file sharp edges, avoid cutting into corners.

  • Managing calluses

Use a foot file or pumice stone gently. Moisturise afterwards. Avoid sharp tools.

  • Choosing the right footwear

Inspect inside shoes, break them in gradually, and replace when worn out.

  • Dealing with wounds, infections, and fungi

Clean wounds gently, use antiseptic, change dressings daily. For fungal issues, keep feet dry and seek treatment if severe.

Foot Care & Health Conditions

If you have diabetes or conditions affecting circulation or nerves, take extra care:

  • Avoid long soaking in warm water.
  • Inspect feet daily for wounds, redness, or numbness.
  • Seek advice from podiatrists or doctors regularly.
